Grandma's Advice for now is:
1.) Using the Top Menu Bar make sure you open
a Neopets Bank account.
Click the Bank Icon
and - make up - your information
(after all, it is just for fun - not real).
Put all the neopoints you are not using in there.
Deposit all your neopoints (every day) before you logout...
So you can collect interest daily.
2.) Keep all your items in your Safety Deposit Box 
or TRADE area
- not in "YOUR ITEMS" 
inventory
to prevent ghosts from stealing them.
Unless your using them.
3.) If your pet gets sick... 
make it your Active Pet 
:
Click the pets name on the left menu bar
make sure it is the darken pet on the pets stats page
if you have more then one pet.
Then take it to Healing Springs in Faerieland (using the "explore" link)
several times a day for 3 days.
Go directly to Healing Springs the moment your pet gets sick...
this usually heals it right away.
It is important to keep your pet:
A) Happy - Playing with Toys - or - Eating certain foods. (neggs)
B) Full up - Keep track of the foods that cause it to reach this hunger level.
C) Groomed - Give it a bath.. brush its teeth and hair... etc.
**** Pets help score higher at games when taken care of. ****
4.) Start the day by collecting your interest from your bank account if you have any.
5.) Goto Tyrannian Plateau, grab an Omelette and feed your pet right away.
6.) Goto the Games Room and Under "Puzzles"
Play the MATCH games.
Start with zero nps.
(put any and all nps in your bank account before playing.)
Destruct-o-Match - Play as high a level as you can 3 times.
(pays half point value - send in scores over 600 only )
Watch for our TOURNAMENTS.
Kiko Match - Send in scores when higher then your last only.
(pays twice point value)
Do this 3 times.
PokeMatch - play at least once.
7.) Be sure and Log Out of your account when you are not playing.
8.) Watch out for SCAMMERS - SCAMS and HACKERS.
(Never give anyone, for any reason, your password)
When you have been redirected to a Login Page...
Chances are it is FAKE...
(LOG OUT - Before Logging back in.)
BE SURE TO - Click your Back Button - And go some where else.
Never try logging in, from within the Neopets site.
Always goto the main page. (www.neopets.com) and
be sure to report the URL where you saw the FAKE LOGIN PAGE.
Do not sign in on any pages that show up while you are playing that claim you are not logged in!!!
They are fake.
Watch out for TRADES and Neomail scams promising to help you get rich quick, or trying to get your password.
