Greg Schaffer is a professional training consultant specializing in emergency medical, fire, and emergency communications training and presentations for public safety, and private agencies. Greg provides educational and management training seminars, and conference presentations.
Mr. Schaffer is a nationally known and requested speaker who has made over 300 public presentations at conferences or professional seminars across the United States and into South America.
Mr. Schaffer is currently a Deputy Chief / Fire Marshal in a large metropolitan fire and EMS department in Metropolitian Atlanta, Georgia, where he is also the Chief of the department's Fire Investigations, law enforcement unit. He also coordinates the department's Leadership and Development Institute. Previously, he managed daily EMS operations for over 13 years, and was also a Fire Academy Training Captain. He has an extensive background in Fire and Emergency Services, public safety education, and 9-1-1 communications training and operations. Greg is a certified instructor with over 25 years in Public Safety.
Mr. Schaffer has experience in all areas of Public Safety including EMS and Fire Services, 9-1-1 Communications, and Law Enforcement.
Mr. Schaffer has received the "Leadership Award", and twice been awarded "Paramedic of the Year" in Gwinnett County, Georgia. He was also nominated "EMT" of the Year" in the State of Georgia. He has received the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce "Public Safety Officer of the Month". In 2005, Greg was recognized by the Rotary Club as "EMS Person of the Year".
Mr. Schaffer has been a National Training Consultant with National Emergency Communications Institute, and an Adjunct Faculty member with the National Fire Academy. He has conducted extensive training programs throughout the United States.
Mr. Schaffer has spoken across the United States and into South America as a motivational speaker. He has been seen on Trinity Broadcast Network, hosted by 8 time Mr. Olympia Lee Haney, as well as the Fox Network. Greg is a Franklin Covey Certified Facilitator in select programs including: Stephen Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Greg is also a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator - MBTI® Certified Practitioner.
Mr. Schaffer has an Associate of Science in Emergency Services, received his bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies from World Vision Bible College and has completed a bachelor's degree in Fire Administration from State University of New York. He received a Certificate of Local Government Management from the University of Georgia - Carl Vinson Institute of Government and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Human Resources Training and Development at Amberton University, Garland, Texas. He currently participates in the National Fire Academy's prestigious Executive Fire Officer (EFO) Program. He is a member of the National Fire Academy Alumni Association and is the State of Georgia Coordinator for the association. He is also a member of the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police, and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians.
Mr. Schaffer is a frequent contributor to fire, EMS, and emergency communications journals, such as EMS Magazine, Fire Engineering, and Merginet.com where as an Editorial Team Member he hosted a monthly EMS product review.
