We all have the power of prophecy.
Through our words we bring death or give life.
Our tongue has the power to bless or curse.
It’s a weapon that cuts like a knife.
Children get hurt from the words we say.
In our anger, their hearts get broken.
We do not realize what we say.
Their future is the word we’ve spoken.
There are unseen forces in this world,
carrying out the words that we’ve said.
If we’ve blessed or cursed someone with our tongue,
it determines the way they are led.
Long ago when prophets would prophesy,
their words would bring fear to all.
Everyone knew the power they held.
Their words could make kingdoms fall.
This is why the Lord has told us,
speak no evil and judge no man.
He knew that words were prophecy.
Their power would rise and stand.
Let us encourage and lighten the load
of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
The words you say can determine their fate.
Before speaking, please stop and think twice.
"But I say unto you,
That every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement."
