If wounds from the past go really deep Does the healing hurt worse than the cause? Abused, mistreated and falsely accused, We're constantly told of our flaws. Our spirits get wounded and even crushed By those who claim they care. All in disguise of Christianity Your faults they are eager to share. This type of hurt can destroy our soul If our spirits are weak in Christ. These wounds can fester for many years If we're not wise to Satan's device. Deliver us from the pains of our past. Let no one get joy from our pain. Show us there is no profit, Lord, In the public display of other's shame. Wounds of the spirit take time to heal, But there's hope, here's what you should do. Ask God to expose all your past hurts, And do spiritual surgery on you. If our spirits are strong and healthy, Victorious we'll be in each trial. If they're weak, we'll not be able to fight And win each battle with a smile. My friend, I pray for your spirit. If it's wounded or broken somehow, In the name of Jesus Christ my Lord I pray that you're healed right now! |
