Gary Sumeracki, President of P & J Associates, has had a full career in the law enforcement, criminal justice and investigative professions. He served with the Detroit Police Department for sixteen years, commencing in 1969. He was a sergeant for the last nine of those years. He performed as an officer and a supervisor in patrol, uniform, plainclothes, and undercover duties. Special assignments included officer-in-charge of a police academy class. He conducted innumerable investigations, not only of criminal cases and traffic accidents, but also police misconduct inquiries and police shootings. Throughout those years, he gained substantial courtroom experience. He was on the Board of Directors of the Detroit Lieutenant and Sergeant Association from 1981 to 1985. Following his service in the Department, Mr. Sumeracki gained three years of experience as an investigator with an established southeast Michigan law firm. Here he performed all types of criminal and civil investigations. He secured witness statements, performed scene investigations, provided research assistance, served process, made trial preparations, and assisted in the courtroom.

Mr. Sumeracki has a Bachelor of Science Degree (with Honors) in Social Science and Criminal Justice.
