Welcome to the Blackberry Ridge Band Web Site.

These pages are based on information from many of the band members (bookkeeping records, scrap books, etc.) and friends and is provided as a source of information for those who followed the band over the years. They were assembled by the band soundman, George Westlund after the June 29, 2002 reunion. Please feel free to provide feedback on these pages to .

The top image to the right is an example of one of the Band's business cards. The lower image to the right is an example of the Band's logo which was used for T-shirt transfers, baseball caps, and several other exposures. The art work is by the soundman, George Westlund.

Our Mission

The band was formed by several friends most of whom grew up in Atascadero, CA and went to high school together. The Band was formed while many were finishing their college years with the core group, except the first drummer, all having graduated Atascadero High School from 1971 to 1973. The band was formed with the idea of playing our own mixture of music including Bluegrass, Country, Country Rock, Southern Rock and Rock.

Band Profile

The band came into existence at the same time that country music was becoming popular with the general public in the late seventies and early eighties. The band was also centered in an area that favored the mix of music the band played with a large number of young adults fans who had grown up in a Agriculture based environment. In addition the band also had a good following among the more mature adults for the Bluegrass and country standards they maintained. The band soon gained a reputation for consistent performances in a variety of performing environments and as a result played a variety of venues during it lifetime.

Many of the Band's original members still live in the Atascadero area being involved in a variety of professions including construction, travel accommodations, nutrition, education and law enforcement.
