About Population Connection/Boston

Population Connection is the nation's largest grassroots organization concerned with the impacts of rapid population growth and wasteful consumption. Continued population growth is foremost among the factors aggravating critical environmental and social problems, such as:

  • air and water pollution
  • deforestation
  • wildlife extinction
  • climate change
  • poverty
  • hunger
  • homelessness
  • crime
  • teen pregnancy
  • We are Population Connection/Boston, the Boston area chapter of Population Connection. Our chapter is one of the largest and most active. We have a bimonthly meeting, and bimonthly newsletter. For more information, see our brochure. To join, please use our membership form.

There are many other chapters of Population Connection; a few also have web sites.

We believe that tackling any environmental problem without a population program is like mopping the floor with the water still running. We are working hard to put these programs in place. Help us fight the good fight!

For more information, please read the letter from Mike Hanauer, the former chairman of Population Connection/Boston.
