DIRECTIONS

The November Boston chapter of ZPG meeting will be held on Monday, November 18 on the MIT campus in Cambridge at 7:30. The specific location is Building 16, Room 16-134. This building is in the "center" of campus, approximately equidistant from Memorial Drive, Mass. Ave, Vassar Street, and Ames Street.

By car: First, get to Memorial Drive in Cambridge, on the north bank of the Charles River. By foot, find Ames Street (0.3 mi. from Mass Ave and 0.5 mi. from the Longfellow Bridge). Go north on Ames Street about 203 yards to the big crosswalk marked by yellow signs- there will be a sharp, pointed end of a triangular building (Bldg 66- Ralph Landau Bldg) on your left. Follow the main walking path along the south (near) side of Bldg 66. Go 168 yards or so until you see the Whitaker Building entrance on your right. Enter. The door on your left is building 16.

Parking is available on Memorial Drive and Mass Ave, or take public transportation via the Red Line to Kendall Square. Building 16, the Whitaker Science Building, is in the center of campus, approximately equi-distant from Memorial Drive, Mass. Avenue, Vassar Street and Ames Street.

Parking is free on Memorial Drive, Mass. Ave., and Vassar St. Try Memorial Drive first. Memorial Dr. runs E-W. Ames St. runs N-S. Be careful on Mem. Dr.- if eastbound near Mass Ave., staying too far to the right will force you to drive over the bridge!

By public transportation (T): Take the T Red line to Kendall Square in Cambridge. Go west (toward the Coop) on Main Street for about 174 yards to the next light and take a left onto Ames Street. Go another 170 yards or so, to a large cross walk marked by yellow signs. Cross in the crosswalk as you face the sharp pointed end of a triangular building (Bldg. 66- Ralph Landau Bldg). Follow the main walking path along the south side of Bldg 66. Go 168 yards or so until you see the Whitaker Building entrance on your right. Enter. The door on your left is building 16.

One way into campus is to go up Ames St. (at the tennis court, parking is often available there too), about halfway between Mass. Ave and the Longfellow Bridge on Memorial Drive. Go North 200 yards on Ames St. (yes, away from the Charles). At the bend to the right, go into the triangular building on the left. This is Whitaker, Building 16.
