Our mission team has returned from Cabaret with a message from Pere Guy. Click here to hear his message. We also have photos from the mission trip here. Thanks to Jim Doyle for these great visuals from our sister parish.
***Sea Container Collection 2010***

Pere Guy said in a recent email, "All the world is raising money for Haiti but it is like Cabaret is not part of Haiti. To my knowledge, Cabaret has received no outside aid."
We have received word from the Parish Twinning Program of the Americas that our annual spring sea container shipment is scheduled to go out in April. Donations will be collected March 7th - April 7th and may be dropped off in the halway outside the kitchen. Thank you for your continuing support of our sister parish.

A Prayer for the People Effected by the Earthquake in Haiti

God of all creation, as we weep with our family in Haiti, console us.
In this time of crisis, open our eyes to look beyond the disaster to see Christ in our brothers and sisters in Haiti, as Christ sees us.
Be with all creation; strengthen us in solidarity with those living and working in Haiti. All creation returns to you in mourning and your grace guides our efforts to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, comfort the grieving and stand for justice.
With your mercy, sustain us at this time as we continue to work for peace and justice.
Amen.

A Prayer for the People of Haiti

Out of the depths we cry to You, O God.
We cry to You for our Haitian sisters and brothers.
We thank you for upholding them in their suffering.
Give them continuing strength and comfort.
Give us love and courage to stand with them and work with them as they struggle for justice and freedom.
Keep us committed to the truth and empower us with your Spirit of love:
- a love that always sees possibilities for peace founded on justice;
- a love that seeks justice without vengeance and retaliation;
- a love that reaches out to enemies, as Jesus taught us.
We trust in your continuing mercy as we bring to You our own desire to be in active solidarity with our Haitian brothers and sisters.
O Holy Spirit descend on us; we have a mission for Haiti.

A Prayer for Mercy on Haiti

God our Father, You know and love all your people. Look with mercy on our Haitian brothers and sisters who have suffered repeated devastation from flooding and hurricanes. See their suffering from constant hunger, thirst and disease. We pray Lord that you raise up good leaders who can bring Haiti out of poverty and build up systems for protection and rescue against natural disasters. Help us at St. Michael's to relieve suffering in Haiti, especially at our sister parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, while ever relying on your great strength, mercy and inspiration. In the name of Christ Jesus, your son, Amen.

Please add a decade of the rosary, or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, or whatever you can after the above prayer. Pray it daily for the next few months and if possible pray as a family or in groups. The Lord blesses us when we gather and agree on the need for His help. The situation in Haiti is always urgent and critical. Thank you for responding with prayer as well as gifts.
