This is sort of a continuing saga of the house I'm having built. It'll be approximately 2394 square feet, 3 bedroom (4th bedroom converted to an office off the master bedroom), 3 full bath, formal dining room, game room, and the living room will be more of a multimedia room. After closing, I plan on landscaping the front and sides along with most of the back and when someone moves in next to me on the east side (I'm on a corner with a street on the west) to share the cost, a fence. After that, I'll be saving up for a deck, gazebo with spa, pool, and a full garage/shop with a room with bathroom and kitchenette above it.
Timeline:
April 23rd - Forms finished
April 24th - Foundation poured
April 25th - Framework started
April 29th - Framework completed
April 30th - Wood put over frame and on roof

Here's the lot (about 1.2 acres) with the only development being the electrical cable trench in the lower portion of the photo (just beyond the ditch). I've got a few mesquite trees about 2/3rds of the way down the lot. (early February) |

Here's a shot from about the same place after the lot was leveled. (Mid- February) |

Some pre-foundation plumbing work. It seemed to rain every time that they started to do any work on the foundation. (early April) |

Forms for the foundation with all the rebar, plumbing, etc. Almost ready for pouring. Yes, that's my fine-looking, recently Texas-hail-dented truck on the side road of the lot. (April 20th) |

Some detail on the work. Additionally, at each corner, there were quite a few larger pieced of rebar run diagonally just at the corner. I don't think I have to worry about the foundation. |

Northeast corner - Bathroom 2, bedroom 2, entryway, formal dining area, utility room, and garage. Back to where we started. Yes, there is a kitchen - it's in the center of the house, open to the dining room and game room with a door leading to the utility room and an opening to the multimedia room. Oh yeah. There's also TWO hot water heaters located at opposite sides of the house. |

West side - garage, bedroom 3, bathroom 3. The fireplace is in the game room. (April 30th) |

Photo of the back. They were still putting the roof on the front as I was taking photos. These guys were fast and did a great job! The slab was poured on a Wednesday and all the work up to this point was done in four days!! |

East side of the house. Note that the garage and two windows are all that face west. The majority of windows are on the south and east. |

...and the living room. The ceilings in the master bedroom, living, and dining rooms are 10 foot, the game room 9 foot, all others are 8 foot. |
