The 1999 All Mopar Southern Nationals were held at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds , GA on May 28th - 30th , 1999 .
There was fun and sun to be had by all ,except Saturday afternoon when the rains came . The event was sposored by the North Georgia Mopars as well asLandmark Dodge , who donated the grand prize giveaway , a brand new Mopar Performance 360 crate engine !!
I was joined at the All Mopar Southern Nats by some of my Dakota Bretheren , as well as my friend Missy . We all had a great time !!
I strongly urge you to attend the 2000 All Mopar Southern Nationals next year , you won't regret it !!
Here you see al of our Dakotas , including some weird guy's that thought this whole Dakota thing was cool.......the more the merrier . From closest to the camera to fartherest are Weird Guy's , Blaine's , Mine , Ben's , and Mel's .
Here are Ben's truck and mine at the hotel .
Slicks are GOOD !
Here is my truck at the track between rounds in the pits .
Here is Blaine's truck in the pits while we all sit out the rain . You can see Missy and Mel hiding under Mel's bed cover .
Here is a neat Durango that Landmark Dodge had
there . They had installed the Dakota R/T wheels which greatly added to
the look of the truck .
I liked the look of the Michelin Pilot
LTX tires too , I think I will get these when I replace mine , which should
have been months ago , LOL !
Here you see Mel , Blaine and myself busy at work
preparing my truck for the next run .
I couldn't have done any of this without the help of my friends !!
Here is another pic of us in the pits between
the rain drops !
Here I am stomping a Ram "SS/T Limited" Club Cab
.
Here I am staring at a bright shiny RED LIGHT
!! I couldn't help it , the other guy had a *HUGE* lead on me and I was
over anxious !
D
DAMN the red light !!
Here are Missy and Mel wasting time waiting for
the rain to go away .
All in all , the weekend was extremely
fun , even though we had to dodge (hehe) a few Rain drops on Saturday and
didn't get to finish racing .
My truck was able to muster a best
of 14.856@91.40 on Sunday , followed by a 14.866 run . I was very very
pleased !!
You can actually watch a video of
my best run by downloading this
file !! It is best viewed using Microsoft's viewer . Thanks to Ben
Vaughan for the file conversion !!
