Sure, you know all about the Pink Flames Pirates from me, now you can learn about the Straw Hat Crew from me! Enjoy!

Please note that I have made SOME translations from thegrandline.com to this page. Such as where on thegrandline.com, the currency is called 'Belly' as here in the U.S. it is called 'Berry'. This is because the 'l' in some translations are actually an 'r' in the original Japanese form. And vice-versa. You may see names like 'Ruffy' and 'Zoro' on some websites. Make no mistake that these two are indeed out beloved Luffy and Zolo. Now, without further rambling from me, I give you my Straw Hat Pirates information page! Hooray! :)

Fighting Technique: Uses his fists and feet to fight along with the ability to stretch like rubber thanks to the Gum-Gum Fruit. 

History of Monkey D. Luffy

Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirate Crew. His dream to become King of the Pirates came along when he met Red-Haired Shanks when he was only seven. Luffy wanted more than anything for Shanks to think him a man so he stuck a dagger into his left cheek which left his famous scar. Luffy still wasn't going to give up though! He noticed a strange fruit in a crate at the bar he was in with Shanks. He took the fruit, making sure Shanks saw him, and ate it. Well, Shanks' crew left, but Luffy didn't care. He was mad at Shanks for not defending himself against someone who was giving him a hard time back at the bar. Besides, he was having too much fun with his new powers.

A few days later, Luffy was talking to the owner of the bar he and Shanks were at. Luffy was still mad at Shanks for standing down and not beating up the guy who insulted him. Just then, that same man came into the bar demanding a drink. Luffy overheard the man bad-mouthing Shanks again and when he saw Luffy, he recognized that he was the boy who had been with Shanks. The man and his men beat Luffy up, but not much damage was done to his rubber body. The village chief had run into the bar and demanded that Luffy be released. Just then, Shanks and his crew had returned. They figured something was wrong when no one came to greet them at the docks. Knowing he was in trouble, the man grabbed Luffy and escaped with him using a smoke bomb. The man escaped using a small boat and threw Luffy into the sea. As Luffy struggled to stay above the water (since the Cursed Fruit prevents people who've eaten it to swim) a dark, ominous shadow lurked in the water right behind the laughing man. Luffy watched as a giant serpent rose from the sea and devoured the man. But the serpent wasn't done eating. Luffy struggled helplessly to not drown as he was about to be eaten anyway. The serpent charged at Luffy, it's mouth wide open. Then, someone had gotten Luffy out of the way just before the monster's jaw had closed. It was Shanks, who stared at the serpent with demon-like eyes and told it to get lost. The monster retreated and Luffy was safe.

However, Luffy could not stop crying. True, Shanks had saved his life... but only at the cost of his left arm. Shanks tried to convince Luffy that 'An arm is a small price to pay for a friend.', but Luffy couldn't accept that. Shanks commended Luffy's courage for sticking up for him and even said that he owed Luffy one, but Luffy's crying refused to yield. Shanks then gave Luffy his prized straw hat. Along with the hat came the promise. "Whenever you become King of the Pirates, return that hat to me. Good luck, m'lad!" and with that, Shanks was off. 

Ten years later, at the age of 17 Luffy set off. He had no crew, next to no supplies, and no sense of direction whatsoever. 

Soon, he met, 'Pirate Hunter Zolo' and the rest is history!:)

I know his heart's in the right place, it's just a pity his brain's not! I am SERIOUSLY thinking of making some Missing posters for it... cuz he OBVIOUSLY lost it! I KNOW I shouldn't be talking, but... `~` Oh well! He is a good captain. He'll never let his friends die. They are as precious to him as his straw hat.  

Roronoa Zolo   

Age: 19

Birthday: November 11th

History of Roronoa Zolo

When he was young, Zolo trained at a certain dojo, studying the way of swords. Already skilled at one sword, he trained with two swords. He trained hard to surpass the dojo masters daughter, Kuina. He trained nonstop, pushing himself far past all limits. He challenged Kuina again and again, 2,000 times to be exact.

At the 2,001st time, Zolo and Kuina decided to use real swords instead of their usual bamboo training swords. In the light of the full moon, Zolo suffered his 2,001st defeat along with many injuries. Zolo was furious at himself for another defeat, but Kuina said that all blame should be pinned on her. She explained that as male swordsman trained, they would continue to get stronger and stronger. As a female swordswoman trained, she would begin to cease at getting better. This cruel statistic had ruined her dream to become the best swordsmaster in the world and she began to cry.   

Right at that point in time, Zolo promised her that he would train to become the best if she should fail. From that moment on, Zolo has trained using three swords. A task that no one had ever accomplished. The next day, as Zolo was making his way to the dojo he had come to know so well to try his hand at using three swords, he learned some terrible news. Kuina had fallen down the stairs at her home and died from the landing. Zolo's sadness was hidden in his anger, especially since they had made that promise the night before. He accused her of running away from him, but he still remained passionate about fulfilling the promise he had made to her. He asked the dojo master for Kuina's sword. He received it and made a promise on it become the World's Greatest Swordsman no matter what it took.

To this day, Zolo uses Kuina's sword. It is the white one that he always carries in his mouth. After his loss with Hawk-Eye Mihawk, Zolo promised to never lose again. He also made a deal with Luffy that he would only join if he let Zolo fulfill his dream. And if Luffy stood in the way of him succeeding in his goal, it would mean that Luffy would have to be killed by ritual. But Luffy was not about to be the one to lose any blood. That's Zolo's job. Zolo is known for losing ridiculously large amounts of blood (even though the blood loss is not shown on the televised version of One Piece, you can still see it in the Mangas.).

To become the World's Best Swordsman, Zolo needs to defeat Hawk-Eye Mihawk, but this will not be an easy task. Mihawk is the owner of the World's Strongest Blade, made of black steel. It is practically unbeatable, but it doesn't matter how strong the sword is. It matters only on the person who wields the swords.

MY Notes on Zolo

Do you still wonder why Zolo is my favorite? Well, DUH! Yeah, I've always been a HUGE fan of swords. Anything with a blade actually... Swords, elbow blades, staffs, spears, stuff like that. And who says you don't learn anything from things like One Piece? I have learned that you do not need a shield, you can use swords to block attacks! So thank you for freeing up one of my hands, Zolo! :) As, you can see, I have alot of pictures of Zolo (and even more than the ones you see on my site in a special One Piece Pics folder of mine!) and I'm constantly searching the web for more. If you find any pics of Zolo or any other One Piece related pics, feel free to email me them! You will be credited if you find one before me and I put it on my site! 

Anyway, back to Zolo... I know it says on thegrandline.com that Zolo is probably the third strongest on Luffy's crew, but not in my opinion! And I'm not playing favorites either! I assume they think Luffy is the strongest and Nico Robin is the second strongest. Okay, so let's put my theory to the test!    Zolo vs. Luffy. Zolo tosses Luffy into the sea. SPLISH! Okay, that's one down! Zolo vs. Nico Robin. SPLASH! Problem solved!  Okay, so what if there is no ocean for them to be thrown into?! Think about it... both Luffy and Robin have Cursed Fruit powers. Zolo doesn't, yet he's still really strong (say 3rd strongest, according to thegrandline.com). Doesn't that amount to something? AHA! NOW you see where I'm coming from here! Also, Zolo would put up a good fight, even after losing alot of blood. He has alot of stamina, and you've GOT to admire that! He's so determined and won't take a loss. If you were, like, someone from the Navy and you were ordered to capture Roronoa Zolo, that'd be so annoying! The guy just refuses to give up, which would be really frustrating if you were trying to kill or capture him... I dunno, maybe I'm not making any sense here... I just feel really strongly about a guy like that! Call me crazy, but... I will deny all claims of me losing my sanity over him. I lost it way before that. Zolo lives on as my favorite character in ANYTHING!

Nami

MY Notes on Nami

Nami is an awesome thief. She's got the whole 'act innocent if caught' thing down REALLY well. She is my 3rd favorite of the Straw Hat Pirates because of her ability to keep the boys in line (which is NOT an easy task!). I also like her weapon, the Clima Tact. I WOULD got into the details of how it works, but I have a life (believe it or not!). In which, I mean it would take forever to create the table on all the combinations of attacks and everything. Besides, if you absolutely HAD to know the attacks, they're listed on thegrandline.com. You can check it out there. Anyway, back to Nami. Yeah, she is BY FAR the coolest thief there is on any of the seas. Me, I'm the coolest sneak! But, more about that later... The only thing I would advise her to be careful of is her immense love for treasure. It can put her in some tough situations at times. And... that's it...
