Stafford Springs Post Card

Keith Eddins Wilkerson

I recently obtained a Stafford Springs post card that was unlike any that I have previously seen. I made this purchase in hopes of enlarging the view and deciphering the details of some signs that appear in the photograph. Unfortunately, this was not possible. Posted below is a copy of the entire card and some enlarged details.

Stafford Springs Hotel Property Main Entrance - circa 1910

Detail of what appears to be a welcome or information office. Note the illegable sign posted on the left.

Detail of foot bridge. Directly behind bridge, two women standing and talking. To the left beside a tree, a lone man standing.

Detail of Gazebo. Lone woman standing to the left. Two women standing at doorway. Lone woman standing behind gazebo. Upper right, lone man walking toward gazebo. In the background, the old hotel porch banister can be made out as well as hints of the hotel structure.
