Tying instructions:

1) After mounting hook in the vise attach thread and wrap it to the bend of the hook.
2) cut four strand of the silli rubber material about 1and 1/2 the length of the hook shank and secure it to the top of the hook at the bend with the majority extending out past the hook eye.
3) attach the chenille and wrap it forward.
4) pullthe strands of silli rubber up and over the back of the fly forming a shellback (make sure the strands ae aligned next to each other and don't cross).
5) gently pull on the strands as you lock them on with thread wraps at the point behind the hook eye, then whip finish and coat with head cement.

Notes: the strands of silli rubber can be cut off at eye or all or some of the strands can be left cut short to form antennae.
The tail should be trimmed so that it only extends about half the hook length.
suggested colors include: orange and brown, black, purple, charteuese, yellow. and green. Also other materials can be substituted for the silli rubber and chenille (Krystal flash, estaz, litebright for example).
