The campaign adopted the official history as written in the Legend of the Five Rings universe until 1090. Events were added to the published timeline between 1090 and 1120, in the generation before the characters began their adventures. Gameplay began in 1121 and soon departed from the official history; events known to abegan to be recorded on a yearly basis after this time. The list at the right provides the complete history of Emerald and Jade from the mythic origins of the Empire until the present time.
