Welcome to the Kawa no Kin

The longest river in Rokugan, the Kawa no Kin, or “River of Gold” runs from the Spine of the World Mountains in the north to Earthquake Fish Bay in the south. It flows through or near many important locations in Rokugan and is the main trade route for goods. Policing this river is the duty of Emerald Magistrate Yamagata, who river barges to prevent smuggling, collect taxes, and pursue criminals. While Yamagata ’s jurisdiction is confined to the river itself (treated as an imperial road), the Lake of Cherry Blossom Snow, and the docks and boat houses of Pleasure City, he and his doshin have the right to pursue known crimnals and outlaws into any lands according to Imperial Edict.
