Studio recordings just simply can’t capture the raw energy of a live performance

with a live audience. Sure, you have some great songs and you perform them well!

But how does that potential client know how good you are live?

That board recording that you got last weekend sounded decent. But it didn’t really

capture the whole experience. Sure... the soundman did a great job. But he was mixing

for the moment and the audience... not to get a great mix for the recording. And it

certainly isn’t suitable for a live CD.

The drums were too far back. The bass was not quite there. The mix from the FOH

console just didn’t capture the “air and sparkle” or the ambience of the audience

that was on their feet and so in your pocket by the end of the first song. If you could just

get into the mix and pull that searing guitar solo out where it really was in the house mix!
