Over 4600 signatures and dozens of letters in support of preserving the tower have been submitted to the APA and DEC.

Friends of Hurricane Mountain Fire Tower
The National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Hurricane Mountain Fire Observation Fire Tower was approved by the State Review Board in June, 2007.
The Tower is now listed on the Natinal Register as follows:
