  Beverly Dunes
Located along Lower Crab Creek in Eastern Washington, the Beverly Dunes are a unique natural phenomenon. Long rolling sand dunes bordered by mountains on one side and irrigated farms on the other, the dunes provide a great ATV environment that attracts off-road recreational vehicles from miles around.

Beverly Dunes Get to the dunes early, the Eastern Washington sun is hot! Bring your own water and a tarp for cover from the sun. There is a parking lot for campers and trailers. Also, the area can get pretty crowded. Vehicles range from quads to dune buggies to motorcycles.
Riding at the dunes takes a lot of concentration. You're never quite sure of what may be on the other side of a dune. There was a guy jumping a dune on a Banchee and just sailing out into the air. Be sure not to ride into someones landing zone! To get to Beverly Dunes Start on State Route 243 at Beverly. Go East on Crab Creek Road for 2 miles. Beverly Dunes

  Thorson Peak
The Mt Skokomish Wilderness bordering the Hamma Hamma River provides miles of state forest roads to explore. In the early spring the roads are covered in snow even in the lower elevations, limiting access to hikers or ORVs. The snowy roads are dangerous and exhausting, the quads constantly bogging down in the deep, soft snow.

Thorson Peak When adventuring in hazardous areas, it is advisable to travel with seasoned outdoorsmen. Rac'in Jayson, Big Matt and Maddog Mike

  Westport Beach
Westport lies on the Washington coast on the southern side of Grays Harbor. The town of Westport is a tourist attraction and also host charter fishing trips across the sandbar into the Pacific Ocean. The beach is open to vehicles in the winter and spring months and provides a fun and challenging ATV experience.
Beach at Westport One of the challenges is to keep from running over the beach-walkers! Also, avoiding cars and other recreational vehicles.
I wiped out big-time trying to make a sharp turn while zooming through the surf!

  Tahuya State Forest
Tahuya State Forest is a multiple-use recreation area near Belfair. The trails support horseback-riding, mountain-biking, motorcycles and ATV's. While the terrain is flatter than Green Mountain, the area is much larger and the trails more challenging. The Four-wheel drive trail across from Elfendal Pass was the course used by Road and Track Magazine to rate sport utility vehicles last year. It is a very rough trail for vehicles, as I found out when I rode my quad into a water-filled rut and submerged it completely!

Getting back from the Four wheel drive trail at the staging area.

The Tahuya River trail is my favorite, with lots of area and plenty of mud, and some great spots to stop and give the back-side a break.

  Green Mountain
Close to home and good trails and roads for riding, Green Mountain rates high on the list of places to go quad riding. Starting at the Wildcat Lake trailhead up to the Vista at the top, the trails are suitable for a casual slow paced hike, or an engine-screaming, hair-raising run up the mountain. In the winter, when we happen to get some snow accumulation, quading in the snow at Green Mountain is a fun and challenging experience. The roads and trails are blanketed with snow, and the views from the look-out points are awesome!
  Serves as a snowmobile also!

There are places on Green that are not so hospitable to ATV's. Climbing the Buckhorn trail is difficult at best!
