Jay goes Para-Sailing- Puerto Vallarta
Dorothy and Jayson were hanging out on the Mismaloya beach just taking it easy on day 3 on their honeymoon when the Para-sailing speedboat roared into the hotel bay. Three guys jumped out of the boat and spread their brightly colored Bacardi para-sail and started working the crowd. We had seen the para-sails circling Banderas Bay around the downtown area the day before, many different sails and vendors offering rides far above the waves, but I had told Dorothy that was not for me. No thanks! I'm keeping my feet on the ground. But the seed of flight had been planted.
So, later, back at Mismaloya Beach in front of our hotel, we're watching tourist go soaring out over the water, pulled by the speedboat. Nobody got dragged through the sand or smacked the water.
I say to Dorothy, "If that little kid over there does goes para-sailing, then okay, I will too". The damn kid does it. I'm on the hook. Those dudes had me strapped up before I knew what was happening.
Lift-off! Away I go!
Over Los Arcos
So I'm flying now. The speedboat is a little toy and I can't even hear it, it's so far away. The view is awesome and you really get a new resplect for life when you are hanging on to it by a thread! But I was cool. My hat was still on.
Coming in for a landing
When the vendors were stapping me up they said something about listen for a whistle. When you hear the whistle, pull down on the red ribbon. Before you get over the buildings.
I hear the whistle (after noticing people waving their hands frantically on the beach) and come in for a pin-point landing. The guys said I did good! And my hat stayed on. Great pictures by Dorothy.
