Downtown Old Vallarta- Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta was our introduction to Mexico. So we did a lot of exploring. Traveling around Banderas Bay, there is Marina Vallarta - one of Mexico's largest private marinas with over 500 slips. From there we went through Pitillal, a bustling little community of Mexican workers and craftsmen.
In town is Our Lady of Guadalupe, City hall square, and the malecon (seawall), where everyone comes to stroll and see the sights of old town. We checked out hotel row, but the cool stuff was in old Vallarta.
Downtown Vallarta consists of the newer part, where hotel row is, and 'old Vallarta', where the Flea Market, old churches and real mexican culture resides.
On the way to Rio Cuale Sights, sounds and smells!
The bridge to the Flea Market
Leave the haggling to women! In the Flea Market, Dorothy wants to find a hand-made wool blanket. So we see a little shop, and I yell, "Don't make any deals until I get back" (I gotta go to the can).
Rio Cuale is a slightly newer but equally unigue section of town. The area is renowned for small shops and boutiques, and for haggling for goods!
When I come back I say " Have you talked him down to 250 pesos"? No, she had talked him down to 200 pesos until I opened my big mouth!

There is a lot to see in old and new Puerto Vallarta!
