NEW Cedar 'peanut butter' bird feeder

[Prior Lot]    [Next Lot]

This is a handmade 'peanut butter bird feeder'.  Extremely popular with the tufted titmouse and chickadees here in Alabama.  My Mom and Dad feed them on our Deck all the time - I know cause I sit and watch the birds come and eat.  I'm just a 4-1/2 pound teacup toy poodle, and I've tried barking at those birds, but they just mostly ignore me (imagine that)!

Mom and Dad had a small plastic feeder for a long time and it finally just wore out.  They looked everywhere for another one - wild bird stores, catalogs, online - didn't find one.  SO my dear Dad decided he would make his own and sure enough... this is his finished product.

The base is made of cedar with dowel perches.  The holes where you put the peanut butter are standard PVC, so it should hold up well.  There's a screw eye at the top for hanging.

This one measures 8-1/2 inches long with two peanut butter holes and two perches on each side.  They also have a larger three hole one, and a jumbo four hole one.

They use the store brand of peanut butter and just fill both holes out to the edge.

They say this makes a great gift for your birdwatching friends.  I know our cat, Fluffy, is totally entertained looking out the window at all the birds that come to ours (but I don't think it takes much to entertain her).
