This kit makes is a handmade 'peanut butter bird feeder'. Everything is included to construct this feeder, along with simple, easy to follow directions. Comes sealed in heavy plastic bag. We have found these feeders to be extremely popular with the tufted titmouse and chickadees here in Alabama. We feed them on our deck winter and summer. My dear hubby designed and makes these - we've been selling the finished product for almost a year and this kit was created after talking with a Cub Scout leader. Finished product measures 8-1/2 inches long with two peanut butter holes and two perches on each side. The base is made of cedar with dowel perches. The holes where you put the peanut butter are standard PVC, so it holds up well. PVC pieces are screwed in so hopefully the smart little squirrels will be foiled from removing them :-) There's a screw eye at the top for hanging. We use the store brand of peanut butter and simply fill both holes out to the edge. Excellent as a gift, use as a craft for Girl or Boy Scouts or other kids groups. Great way for kids to learn about our feathered friends. |
