AvLogbook Change History

Version 2.13 23-Mar-2005

Converted to donationware scheme.

Version 2.12 ... 2002-12-01

FEATURES:

Changed the maximum number of aircraft to report currency on to 50 (was 30).

Changed the maximum number of aircraft to report time-in-type on to 50 (was 30).

BUGS:

Fixed bug that could cause a crash on Palm OS 3.0

Filtering on times (User5-8, p91, p121, p135) would cause a crash. Fixed.

Ver. 2.10 28-Sep-2001

Hobbs and Block time features added. See preferences to enable.

Hobbs time storage (hobbs value from last entry) used to calculate flight
time when the current (end of flight) hobbs entry is made.

Hobbs/Tach conversion factor.

Flight number field added (shown when Hobbs/Tach or Block time enabled).

The PAX/Crew form now shows the asterisk if there is a note present.

Option to use the block-out time for sorting as opposed to the local
timestamp (which a professional pilot may never use or care about).
This ensures that the entries sort correctly regardless of the "hidden"
time-of-day.

Block time conversion table. Note that changes to this table will NOT
affect existing log entries, just new ones.
Preferences panel that allows setting the block time conversion table
(minutes to tenths). Note that these values are NOT checked for sanity -
the burden is on the user to make sure the table does not have
inconsistent ranges stored in it. Starting from the top of the table,
the FIRST value found that the flight time minutes are less than is used.

Changed the way we deal with using the previous airport/aircraft for new
entries. (made it simpler)
If "Use last aircraft for new entries" is checked, the previous AC will
be used.
Otherwise, if a "Default Aircraft" is set, use the default AC

If "Start Route with last destnation" is checked, use the last
destination.
Otherwise, if a "Home Airport" is set use it to start the route and make
it a local flight if the "Default route is local" option is checked.

Some minor changes to the look of the airport and passenger entry screens.

Added "XC", "Actl", "p91", "p121", "p135" and "User 1-4" to the types of default times to fill in
when creating a new entry.

If the Ascending order sort is used for log entries, when you enter
the program the list shown has only the latest entry at the top and a
blank page below. Fixed this bug.

Added "Indicate PAX / Crew" checkbox in prefrences. If enabled:
* The Passenger select screen is titled "Passengers / Crew".
* The passenger select screen has buttons to select PAX / Crew.
* The entry form will show a "P:" in front of passengers and a
"C:" in front of crew lists.

Added a preferences checkbox to control the setting of default landings. Formerly,
one landing was always set. Now by clearing this checkbox the landing
count can default to zero to accomodate flight legs where a pilot as part
of a multi-pilot crew may perform none of the landings.

Added additional choices to the entry list columns (i.e. Part 91, User 1).

Added new totals types for time in Aircraft, Gilders, Rotorcraft and
Lighter-than-air catagories.

There is a new "Time In Type" summary listing which shows all aircraft
types flown and the total time and number of flights each. Selecting an
entry in this list will bring up information showing time, flights and
landings as PIC, SIC and total (any time including dual received etc.).
This dialog also shows the first and last date on which this type was
flown.

Added a 45-day currency setting.

If the system numeric format is set to use a comma as the tenths
separator that character is now properly accepted when entering flight
times. The flight times will also now display with the preferred
character seperating the tenths (i.e. "." or "," as appropriate).

The "Sim" time for an entry was being considered as flight time instead of
non-flight time. This could result in the total flight time being
higher than it should be. This has been corrected and simulator "flights"
now show a duration of zero.

In the Totals screen, tapping the field labels will bring up a dialog box
giving the extended description of that field's contents.

Added log entry fields User5-User8, bringing the total user-definable
field to 8 from 4.
Also added fields for Part 91, Part 135, Part 121

Added new Totals fields:
Inst Sum of Actual, Hood & Simulator.
TurT Sum of Jet and Turbine times.
TuPIC Sum of Jet and Turbine times as PIC
TuSIC Sum of Jet and Turbine times as SIC.
SePIC Single-Engine time as PIC
MePIC Multi-Engine time as PIC
SeSIC Single-Engine time as SIC
MeSIC Multi-Engine time as SIC

Changed "Turb" to "TrbP" to more clearly indicate Turboprop time (as
opposed to Turbojet time which is "Jet").

Changed the description of "Turb" time to be "Turboprop Time" to clarify
the difference between this time and "Jet" (Turbojet) time.

Trying to run on a OS older than 3.0 will now result in an error message
and a refusal to start.

Ver. 2.03 16-Jul-2001

Fixed bug that cleared the carry forward generic landing count when viewing the "B" forwarded totals screen.

Fixed bug in the "Flight Time" popup menu where the value 3.2 appeared twice.

Fixed bug that caused newly entered aircraft information to be lost if the "Note" button was pressed.

Fixed bug that caused fields after the "Duration" field in totals to be uneditable in the forwarded screen of the Totals feature.

Ver. 2.02 13-Jul-2001

• Changed the way that landings are carried forward. Landings may be
entered in any of the "landing type" fields (such as Day or Night) and
these will NOT be summed into the overall "Landing" field on the
carry-forward screen. Seperate landings can be entered into this field
now, and the math for carrying forward is to carry forward the day/night
landings, sum them and add them to the final overall landing count. Also
added into this count is the overall landing count set in the carry
forward screen.

• Added fields in the Totals screen for "Single Engine", "Multi Engine",
"Sea" and "Land" total times. It was previously possible to determine
these times by applying the appropriate filter, but the new field types
make it quick and easy to see these numbers if so desired.

• Added fields in the Totals screen for "Turobprop PIC", "Turboprop
SIC", "Jet PIC", "Jet SIC".

• Added an aircraft attribute of "Jet" to allow further breakdown of time
between Turboprop and Turbojet for those that fly both.

• OS 2.0 is no longer supported - OS 3.0 is now the minimum version
needed.

• Added "n/a" class for use with the Glider catagory.

• The "Note" butons for Airports and Aircraft now show an asterisk if a
note is present.

• Log entry list now has a scrollbar.

• Added print date to the totals printout.

• Printing of summary information is now configurable as to which fields
are printed.

• Change "Currency" to "Recent Experience" (as relates to passenger
carrying). Added a general currency feature to allow tracking medical,
BFR, aircraft inspections etc.
Note: There are no warnings given for currency items whose "last" date
has never been set!

Ver. 2.01 11-Sep-2000

• Added the hour & minute of a log entry to the "sort by date" option. This
keeps multiple legs of a flight entered on the same day sorted correctly.

• Added the option to set the time-of-day of the flight as well as the date.

• On screens that cannot be "cancelled", changed the "OK" button to
"Done". Changed "Add" buttons to "New". This improves user interface
consistency and operation via the Palm keyboard.

BUGS:

• Routes that are too long to fit in the selector trigger button on the
entry screen are now truncated when displayed.

• Calculated total duration was incorrectly adding in PIC or SIC time etc.
if they were higher than the total of Day plus Night. Fixed. This was
only a problem if the total of day plus night was smaller than some other
field (which should never be the case).

• A text function that is not present in some versions of the OS was used.
This has been fixed.

Ver. 2.0 1-May-2000

This is a major update which adds configurable entry fields, passenger tracking, databases for passengers and airports, quick data entry features, "carry-forward" of time totals and improved filtering options in addition to many other minor improvements and changes.

Ver. 1.04 27-Jun-1999

Added cost per flight tracking. This is meant mainly to support tracking
a block time account at an FBO. You could use it to track total costs to
fly if you own, but it's one amount per flight, no way to record
maintenance costs etc.

Added warning if flight time entered is greater than the 25.5 hour limit
per type & flight.

The "Note" button on the log entry screen now shows an asterisk if there
is a note attached to the entry.

The entry list screen can now display whether or not an entry has a note
as one of the possible list columns.

Added option to display the "zeros" in fields that are zero (this was
suppressed for flight time and is now suppressed for all numeric fields by
default)

Various changes to make the list view "smarter" about where to show in the
list when we add new entries, perform sorts etc.

Ver. 1.03 7-May-1999

Fixed bug with Actual Instrument time logging.

Fixed bug with instrument approach logging.

Adding a new entry now refreshes the entry list when we return to it.

Ver. 1.02 25-Apr-1999

Fixed the problem where only some "debug" choices were showing up on the airport ID popup list ithe route entry screen.

Ver. 1.01 13-Apr-1999

Initial Release
