Previous Update Log for 1998

December 16, 1998
Ok. So what have I done thus far. Not a thing (except for the tour schedule). I suppose I have been pretty busy. I do have a greeting card for everyone that I have not been able to get a card to on the net. The card is from Hallmark and I think most of you will like it. It is animated below.

Merry Christmas Everyone.

Sorry for the long delay on responding to E-mails. I have been detained with many other matters to deal with, not to mention my girlfriend. Anyway, I have corrections to Cooling and Never Seen Blue.

October 12, 1998
Back from the New Orleans concert. I have a review and have pictures which I will scan soon. :)

[Tori Rainn Benefit]

Best Buy will be conducting an auctioning of Tori tickets in support of R.A.I.N.N. Procedes of the auction will go towards R.A.I.N.N. Tickets will grant the buyer excellent seats towards the front of the concert hall as well as a personal meet with Tori. If you are interested in possibly purchasing bidding for tickets to one of the upcoming Tori concerts click on the image above.

I never do promotions, but this is for a worthy cause.

September 26, 1998
Looks like I forgot an old song of Tori's called Rubies and Gold. Sorry I missed it. :)

September 21, 1998
Fellow Tori fan E. Diaz sent me a transcription of Beulah Land since I have not had time to listen nor figure out the lyrics. For now, these will be the lyrics until I have time to confirm whether they sound right to me. *LOL* ;)

September 19, 1998
I have added 2 new Tori songs that I knew about a month ago prior to the release of Jackie's Strength single. The songs (which I believe are written by Tori) are Never Seen Blue and Beulah Land. No lyrics to them yet because I am having a heck of a time trying to figure out the words. If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

September 9, 1998
Sorry. I have been busy with a relationship and I am a bit preoccupied with my love for her, so bare with me with the slow updates.

Background lyrics correction submitted by Ian Mullins for "Swing low, Swing low, Sweet Chariot" part in Spark.

I also received a reward from Robert Reynolds for my site that he thought was excellent. He sent the following image

Thanks Robert. :)

August 22, 1998
Sorry. So busy. I was planning a Tori Birthday party and it fell under and I also did not realize that I did not give recognition to her birthday on the net. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TORI.

August 15, 1998
Still in working stages. I have the review for Tori concerts that I have not told any of you. My first review is the concert I went to last night in Birmingham, Alabama. I met Tori and the whole thing is a doosey. Anyway read the stuff about my Concert if you like.

August 5, 1998
Sorry. This may be almost old but at least I have it. A R.A.I.N.N. benefit will be conducted by Best Buy in auctioning off Tori tickets. " All of Tori's U.S. dates starting with Washington D.C. on August 8 will have tickets available for this auction!" says Mike Why. Anyway the image and link are below.
[Tori Rainn Benefit]

Updated some more lyrics corrections that were submitted earlier this month. Congrads to Richard Doxey for helping out. So busy, that I have not had time until now. Anyway, I update Alamo, Mary Till the Chicken. Now, I did leave out some of the corrections submission just because I just was not sure. Anyway, I have what I left out here and you can be the judge.

i i e e e
youre so sure you can save every hair on my chest...
I changed this in my lyrics because that did not sound like what she was saying

Alamo
wish i could do what gold does...
I did not use this because it did not seem to work in context but I could be wrong

Till the Chicken
the sweetest nylon no not where she's gone...
some say she's got plenty of stock
some say she's got some Divas and Kramer
I did not use the first line's "he" just because...well...I do not hear it during the three times she says it. I hear the word "she". And the last two lines are not in the original version. I do not know if I missed them somehow, or whether she did this live and added two extra lines.

Those are my two cents.

July 26, 1998
Updated some more lyrics that I forgot about. Heck, I have all sorts of stuff I need to put on the web-page, but I have been so busy here and there. I think part of the problem is because I have been getting lazy as of late. Anyway, I updated lyrics that I believe I heard, but are printed in the liner incorrectly.

I changed i i e e e, so that the following line is "your so sure you can turn to bring hair on my chest." I also changed Pandora's lyrics at the very end. It now reads, "the lord of the fliers was dying almost as soon, babe."

So, tell me what you think. This is purely what I got from listening.

July 22, 1998
Leave me alone. I know. I fixed these lyrics again. Anyway, Bachelorette and Purple People are updated again. Take a look and tell me what you think.

July 19, 1998
Yea, I know. Lame update coming. I just fixed Bachelorette and that is about it for now. I have Pappa John's Pizza coming soon, so this is a quick update.

July 9, 1998
Wonderful Tori party. I wish everyone was able to attend, but alas, it was not so. We had more than 17 people who came. 11 at the dinner and stragglers to the party. I was very pleased. Anyway, you can read up on the party at "Birmingham Tori Shin-dig" page. I wrote a very lyrical and Tori-ish story about the party and my prepartions for it. I think you will like it. :)

Because of the party and all, I have not had time to do any lyric updates and things of that nature, but I will as soon as I can. :)

July 14, 1998
Okay, so my Bachelorette lyrics I received were not so hot. I did receive better ones. I could not personally transcribe the lyrics myself, but I am glad there are some Tori fans out there that are better than I.

Additionally I decided to post my ICQ# for those who want to chat. I welcome anyone who can sustain my ever typive fingers at the keyboard. Just send me a request and I will add you to my list and hopefully we will be logged on sometime soon (ICQ#14318480). :)

July 5, 1998
Party. We have 19 people, which is not bad. The numbers have been going up and down a little, but only because some people had plan changes and so forth. Anyway, check out the new posted information at the "Birmingham Tori Shin-dig" page.

On the other side of the coin, I have added updates to Purple People and Bachelorette. Evidently, Dan Heller was able to catch a lot of words that I could not. Now that I read his lyrics with the music, I do believe he is quite right. Anyway, check it out.

June 25, 1998
I now have more information regard the "The Birmingham Tori Shin-Dig". If you are interested in attending, please fill out the form on the "Birmingham Tori Shin-dig" page. Note that the deadline is beginning of July. I can not guarantee that there will be available spots for anyone that submitts late. Please E-mail me if you have any questions.

Currently we have, 14 people attending.

June 21, 1998
So far I have a few lyrics to update here and there, but they will have to wait until I am sure that they are correct. I am still hunting for people to attend our little "Birmingham Tori Shin-dig" which is what I am calling our little party. So far, we have 12 people coming, but I want a few more (about 20 maybe). Give me an E-mail if you are interested.

On a lighter side, I just thought that I would mention that I have tixs to Tori's concert in Birmingham (9th row) and Atlanta's first showing (7th row). I am really am hyped about going. Anyway, I will hopefully have updates soon.

June 15, 1998
Gena Gwen gave a little extra insite to Tori's Under the Pink interpretation. Corrected missing line of lyrics to Black Dove.

I know I have been really bad about getting new insites into the new Tori songs, but I have not analyised them, but I have tons of articles and interviews. I just need to compile them and read Tori's lyrics *religiously* as I write up the stuff, but if AnyOnE has anYtHinG ... then by all means submit it to me.

June 14, 1998
I did not mention, in fear of being robbed, but now you can know that I was on vacation. I hope that no one was too badly hurt by my slow reply to comments on my web page, but I am back now and things will more or less be normal as normal goes.

ATTENTION ALL ALABAMA TORI FANATICS: I am planning a get together with people in Birmingham and the outskirts. I was at Mike Why's registry page and I thought that it would be cool to meet people who have grown with Tori. I mean we hear and talk about it a lot, but we never do meet -- really. Send me E-mail if you are interested. I have sent messages to about 15 people in Alabama.

I am now going to TORI TOUR this year. I have tickets to the BJCC Concert Hall in Birmingham, AL and I have tickets to Altanta, GA concert. I am going nuts on waiting for the concert, but I am keeping my cool. What more can you do. Oh, I have Jessica to thank for that. She has a Tori page and if you could I would be very happy if you would visit it. It is simply wonderful -- The Faerie's Ring.

Major disputes and changes made to Purple People. Thanks to Chris G and John Van Allen. Additionally, Cooling had a few changes.

I could of highlighted the changes or made separate interpretation from each person, but I thought one compilation compromised from the various contributors was good enough. I am now including contributors to the end of each lyrics so that they will be known from here on out.

May 22, 1998
Is It Rite E-mailed me corrections for Abbey Road as mentioned earlier. More to come soon. x - promise.

May 20, 1998
Well, I changed and cleaned all lyrics to from the choirgirl hotel, added 7 background lyrics, added lyrics to Purple People, modified Cooling. So far, I NEED to do Merman, redo Abbey Road by aide of a source TBA, and SOMEHOW figure out WHAT in the WoRlD Tori is saying in Bachelorette. Again, suggestion are welcome and I will give credit to those who help me.

Oh, note that I changed the lyrics so that they fit the music and not what is on the net or on the CD-liner. I noticed discrepencies here and there.

May 5, 1998
Added lyrics to from the choirgirl hotel. Everything else will have to wait since I am a bit busy again. In fact, I have put up this update, but have not listened to the album yet. :( But I will shortly.

April 26, 1998
After a somewhat detailed analysis from one of my friends, I made some corrections in the Renditions section and the Biography section (very out of date - I know).

Ugh, my "friend" has been telling me to expand my stuff. I DO NOT HAVE TIME (no disrespect intended - 'Jer). I wish I did, but I don't. I have a life and other things to do so I try to update when I can. From the top of my head, I know I need to update the Bio section, add lyrics to the songs I have just added, Tour Information for this year, and put new images related to Tori's new album coming out this May, but I am dead tired. Doing my "Doctor Who" comic strip for the "Blue Box Companion" club in Birmingham with publication of the newsletter, 30 issues of comics to read a month, and work (if that wasn't enough) is more than enough to keep me busy for quite some time. I have vacation coming, so that should help me unwind.

I am not really complaining. It's just I am getting spread a little thin. I know everyone else has the same thing with their web-pages that they maintain, but - I don't know. If someone wished to help, feel free to send me a message pertaining to it and what you would like to do.

When I am not doing this and my other odds and ends, I am relaxing and catching my breath, but I will try to update things more often, but no guarantees.

April 25, 1998
Long time no update, but I have new stuff which most of you already know, I'm sure. Anyway, I added "Do It Again" and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" under the Renditions section. I added "Purple People (Christmas in Space)" and "Bachelorette" under the Bee Sides section, but no lyrics or transcriptions yet.

I plan on enjoying the music for some time before tearing it apart for the words.

April 8, 1998
Sorry everyone. I have been very busy with other hobbies of mine and I am a bit burnt out. I received a lovely banner from Tori Amos Quote of the Day page. They had me as "pick of the week" some time ago. If you look in my log here, you will probably notice when it was. Anyway, here is the image they sent me.

[Tori Amos Quote of the Day Banner Image]

I am not a person that uses too-oo many images on my page, but I will add it as soon as I do it for everyone else.

As soon as I have recoperated from my weekend, I will try to add more "stuff" to my page.

I updated the times for from the choirgirl hotel.

March 28, 1998
Spark lyrics are here and everywhere else on the web. I added Merman (Available by Tower Records on April 7th) Bee Sides, but I do not have a working link because I do not have the music for the lyrics yet.

As usual, I got my info from Mike Why's page.

Awful shame, no one claimed the 1,000 hit to my page.

March 22, 1998
WHOEVER MAKES THE 1,000 HIT, SEND ME E-MAIL SO I CAN CONGRADULATE YOU ON MY PAGE!

Can you say oops. I had repeat lyrical lines to For Mark.

My friend Jerry Bard pointed out my "By Album" implied that Ellen Amos was a album which it was not so I changed it to "By Era"

March 14, 1998
On Friday night, Spark was debuted. I have not transcribed the lyrics and I probably will not, since Tori's album will be coming out and will hopefully have the lyrics. I might change my mind and give the best transcription that I can, but in the meantime I am waiting.

As far as updates, I added images to ALL of the other lyrics that I have missed. Each song should have an image that I haved personally selected in relationship to the lyrics. Note: Not everyone will agree with the images and I was a bit limited for certain songs.

March 5, 1998
Added transcriptions of
Abbey Road and Oom LaBoomleigh. Note: these are not the best, but they were the best I could do from the recordings I got.

March 2, 1998
Mike Why's page has a link to a site with the releasing tracks to Tori's new album. I have added the track listings, but the links are not available yet. You can view the listing for "From The Choirgirl Hotel" if you like.

March 1, 1998
I guess the hearts of all the bachelors in the world has dropped about a mile unless you have not heard or you thought it was just a rumor for the Net News groups. Evidently, Tori Amos is now married to the Sound Engineer, Mark Hawley. Now Mike Why's page indicated that this was published in the April 1998 magazine of Q.

This had me thinking. First Tori was born with "Myra Ellen Amos", changed her name to "Tori Ellen Amos", and now "Tori Ellen Hawley". I am sure that everyone will still know and refer her to Tori Amos; I know I will.

On a lighter side, the tour name for " from the choirgirl hotel" will be "Plugged '98".

Reorganized the links below to my page. Additionally, I cleaned up all the rumored songs that were coming out. I added "Cruel" and "Playboy Mommy" (not Momma) as songs for the upcoming album.

Februrary 26, 1998
Ugh! Okay, I hope the title is finalized ... NOW. Anyway, evidently the name of Tori's new album is " from the choirgirl hotel". Against my better judgement, I went ahead and made a section for the upcoming album lyrics and I will have them posted when it is released.

The updates are as follows: Missed ending lyrics to Professional Widow ("give me peace, love and a hard cock (or hard catholic)"), noted by Stefan Hayes.

Februrary 23, 1998
Okay, I know about Tori's new album titled "Confessionings of a Choir Girl", but I negleted to post this because Confessionings just IS NOT a word. Second, Tori will be on Jay Leno May 12th and on David Letterman on April 10th.

The updates are as follows: Messed up my columns on the Father Lucifer (background lyrics fuzzy) noted by, Carolyn Monday; For, Mark ("only one sugar plum" for the incomprehensible lyrics) noted by Rain; and, In the Springtime of his Voodoo ("let me watch you" instead of "let me wash you") in the interlude, Stefan Hayes.

Februrary 12, 1998
Messed up my columns on the Renditions. Thanks MrsMalkav for pointing it out.

January 31, 1998
Okay, evidently, there are two songs that I am missing in my list Abbey Roadand Oom LaBooleigh, which evidently are songs that Tori wrote in late 1996. No lyrics are available right now. (have to hunt down the songs first)

January 12, 1998
Sorry. I had the Siren lyrics, but I never posted them until now.

January 3, 1998
Still recoperating, but I just had to add the bit about the Tree that Neil promised Tori. The information has been added to my Neil Gaiman section.

"Drops of Ivory",since July 1997
