		From time to time throughout the year, WSSC offers adult sailing courses conducted by a US Coast Guard licensed Captain. The course takes place over two evenings and two weekend days. The first evening consists of a ground school structured around a review of the textbook START SAILING RIGHT! by Derrick Fries, and a general discussion of basic sailing terminology, knots, boat handling, and safety. The second evening is a short evening sail where the students learn and practice the basics of steering and sail handling. The weekend days are spent on the water, either racing or day sailing. The students gain more practice and experience with boat handling, sail handling, and practical piloting experience. The course is offered for $200.00 per person, payable in advance, and class size is limited to four persons.
