"New Hampshire Stream" Watercolor 2009 © Janice Owen Toth I have always loved to paint, and have worked with watercolor and oil paints for many years. Over time, I've developed other interests in pastel drawing and jewelry design. I also make hand-crafted collage cards. I'm exhibiting work in several locations, including the Rocky Neck Art Colony; the Copley Society in Boston; Noa Gifts in Groton and West Concord; Handworks Gallery in Acton; and the Newburyport Art Association. I received two Mass. Cultural Council Artists Grants to teach summer arts programs. I am teaching watercolor painting at the Groton Center for the Arts and in the RISE program located at Rivier College in Nashua, N.H. An ideal day is when I can set up an easel outdoors to paint a landscape, a garden or beach scene. I also work in the studio with still life subjects and portraits. The four seasons is a favorite theme in my work, and the area I live in offers beautiful landscapes to paint throughout the year. Some of the organizations I belong to are the Dunstable Artisans; the Rocky Neck Art Colony; the Copley Society of Boston; and the Newburyport Art Association. |
