ANDY'S CHEROKEE PAGE
My name is J. Andy Thompson. My wife Lois and I live in Yakima, Washington. We have a daughter, Robbie, and a son, Michael. I was born in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, and am a registered member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma, and none of my ancestors was ever an Indian princess. I am very involved in the Native American community, and am a volunteer with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services as chairman of their Local Indian Child Welfare Advisory Committee. I am a member of the Cherokee Gourd Society, based in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and a Southern straight dancer. I am also a member of the Comanche Little Ponies Warrior Society, and was adopted by the Vance Tahmakera family. I have also been known to frequent the Stokes Smith stomp ground near Vian, when in Oklahoma. I am a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force for four years during the Viet Nam conflict. My occupation for 46 years was as a broadcast engineer and announcer. I am now retired. My hobby for the past 47 years is amateur radio and my call is W7CXA.
