My son, Stevan, 22, is enjoying life as a perpetual student at Prescott College (AZ), having taken time off to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. I travel both North and South Carolina as a salesperson for Neenah Foundry Company (www.nfco.com). Since college, I've lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Washington, DC suburbs, moving to the Charlotte area fourteen years ago, a true Beltway Exile. Prior to joining Neenah this past October, I'd worked for a manufacturer's rep--selling Neenah materials--for eleven years (before the owner decided, at age fifty-four, to go to law school); as a VP for a value engineering firm; as a marketing manager for an A & E firm; and as a co-owner of a construction company. I'm a published short story writer, and have had a dramatic monologue of my work performed at FirstStage L.A. Also volunteer with a therapeutic riding program for physically disabled children; am becoming a bit of a reluctant political activist; and play with my horses as often as I can.
