Contract Analyst/Programmer

ˇ Design, code and implement conversion of data from a PC-based system residing in Singapore to an IBM mainframe IMS system in the UK, using COBOL 2, IMS, Selcopy. CMS, TSO/ISPF. Acted as Team Coordinator of a team of analyst/programmers and members of the user community through to system installation and immediate after-care. Interfaced with users both in the UK and Singapore. Data files were transferred from Singapore to the Cheltenham LAN, then onto TSO on the mainframe for conversion. Specs were edited using AmiPro, time recorded using Excel 4.0.

Computability, Hedge End, Southampton May 1995 to June 1995 Contract Analyst/Programmer ˇ Design, code and test an inventory control and picklist printing system for a food wholesaler, using Excel and VBA. This system has since been further developed by another programmer/analyst with guidance and input from myself.

ˇ Supported the OLAS accounting package, using IMS and DL/1 in an MVS environment

. Provided analytical skills when failures occurred or when adjuncts were required. Installed fixes as required. Prepared, tested, and installed 2 major releases of the software. Had strong interface with users and package supplier support staff.

ˇ Responsible for the development and implementation of a Purchase Ledger/Sales Ledger reporting system, using IMS and DL/1 along with Easytrieve Plus.

ˇ Personally responsible for the development and implementation of an in-house equipment register, using SAS V6.07.

Provided programmer/analyst services to several clients in the Chicago area:

ˇ COMDISCO - Personally responsible for enhancements to, and installation of, an in-house project management system, employing IDMS batch and ADS/ONLINE dialogues, within an MVS environment. Also developed an interface between the mainframe system and PC based systems, including TimeLine dBase IV.

ˇ SEARS, ROEBUCK & Co - Responsible for system testing and implementation of a distribution control system, employing DB2 in an MVS environment. Provided supervisory and training services to the system implementation team, writing production level JCL and Proc's, testing the programs, job streams, and related database functions using both QMF for queries and SPUFI for query/update functions. ˇ

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS - Instrumental in development of a membership information system, using IDMS batch and ADS/ONLINE in a DOS/VSE environment, loosely based on an earlier system. ˇ

JOANNA - Responsible for preparation and installation of Cullinet's CAS Manufacturing software, employing IDMS and ADS/ONLINE. Wrote and tested data conversion programs for implementation. Provided bespoke modifications to several programs. ˇ

OPTIONS CLEARING CORPORATION - Responsible for development and testing of several programs which provided interim concurrency between 2 databases while new system was being further developed.

GE CONSULTING SERVICES Albany, NY CONSULTANT Sept 1986 - July 1988 Member of a large project, consisting of several teams involved in the conversion of programs and data from a Honeywell based system to an IBM MVS environment. Throughout, developed many utilities to automate some of the repetitive processes involved in the code conversions. ˇ

A human resource system, originally written in Honeywell DM-IV/IDS-II, converted and rewritten in IDMS batch, IDMS DB/DC, and ADS/ONLINE. ˇ Many corporate accounting and reporting systems using TSO timeshare, converted several programs using COBOL II. Developed Clists, Roscoe PROCS, and JCL ˇ Development and testing of the General Ledger portion of an accounting system, using DB2, COBOL, JCL, CSP.

Schenectady, NY SENIOR COMPUTER OPERATOR Nov 1979 - Sept 1986 ˇ Operated Honeywell DPS88, plus a variety of off-line equipment, including Honeywell Page Printers, Kodak microfiche equipment. Trained new operators and prepared training manuals. Studied COBOL, Honeywell JCL, GCOS and Timesharing (TSS) under an in-house mentor program.
