List of Supplies You'll Need for a Homebirth

Birth Kit - to be ordered at 30 weeks
One box large size sanitary pads
One box medium sized sanitary pads
Two sets of clean sheets
Rubbing alcohol
Two cotton baby hats
Two extension cords
A way to heat the birth room to 75 degrees
A working flashlight
Electric heating pad
Eight washcloths and four towels
Four large trash bags
Two or three shower curtains and/or plastic mattress pad for your bed
Cotton balls and Q-tips
At least 8 receiving blankets
Two large boxes or laundry baskets to use for trash and dirty laundry during birth
A place for midwife to rest

Please clear a dresser or table in the room where you think you will give birth to lay supplies. Also make sure the first set of baby's clothes, towels and blankets are washed and dried using the longest and hottest settings of your machines then put immediately into clean plastic bags before the birth.
