Outkast & Valkyrie win, KAOS settles for a Saturday draw

In FC Phoenix club play, Outkast won a very tight match on Saturday, 2-1 over ESU Galatasaray in the u17 boys' Premier bracket. The FC Phoenix boys' side, who also notched a much more convincing win on Sunday (4-0 over PCU Crew), fought back from 0-1 to equalize in the second half and then tally the match winner in the waning minutes against Galatasaray. Outkast is 3-4-0 with three games remaining.

Also on Saturday, KAOS had its first setback, drawing at 2 with PCU Wasabi in Portland, allowing FC Phoenix Valkyrie an opening into first place in the u19 girls classic group. Valkyrie did its part, with a 2-1 win, also against Wasabi. Actual standings will await the result of the Kaos v SSC Aces played today (a win will keep Kaos atop the group on points). Kaos and Valkyrie square off on Saturday, March 5, at Colver Field. In addition to the Derby on 3/5, Kaos has one additional match remaining and Valkyrie has two. Valkyrie is 7-0-0 with 21 points, Kaos as of this writing is 6-0-1 with 19 pts, but could climb to 20 or 22 pts once the SSC result is known.

Update: Kaos garnered a 4-0 in over Aces, to boost its record to 7-0-1, for 22 points and hold onto the lead in u19 classic standings. Valkyrie's record is still unblemished, but with only 7 matches played, trail Kaos on points.
