In 1985, led by the organizational efforts of two senior girls playing on the boys' team, a girls' game was organized between Phoenix and Grants Pass. The Cavers won 4-1. 2005 is the 20th anniversary of that match. To celebrate that effort, and the contributions of all the girls who played for Phoenix before Phoenix had a team for them, we will be honoring the players from that first game, and the girls who played on the boys team prior to the first girls' season in the fall of 1989. On October 15, 2005, the Phoenix girls host Henley HS at Colver Field at 10:00am. At halftime of that game, there will be a ceremony honoring the players from before the emergence of girls' soccer. Following the game, there will be a BBQ and social time, possibly featuring a brief, friendly, and highly informal alumnae game.

Since June 19, we have nothing new to report. We know the whereabouts of Chris White, Kasey Katrenick and Wendy Beveridge ('86), Kris Center ('88), and Mandy Wright and Julie Gruchalla ('89).
