President of Commerce Guild Shu Mai outlines why planet Ansion is linchpin to Senator Mousul, Twi'lek woman and Corellian industrialist.
Jedi Master Luminara and her Padawan Barris Offee come under attack on Ansion. Obi-Wan and Anakin rescue them. They know that Ansion is a linchpin and are there to keep Ansion from pulling out of the Republic.
Bossban Soergg the Hutt and his majordomo Ogomoor are behind the attack on the Jedi. Soergg is contracted by Shu Mai. Jedi meet with Ansion's Unity of Community leaders, now they have to meet with the Alwari nomads. Kandah, a member of Unity board, sells this information to Ogomoor.
Soergg the Hutt arranges to have two mentally disabled Alwari name Bulgan and Kyakhta kidnap one of the Padawans. The theory is that the Jedi will not be able to tell their motives because of the mental impairment. Bulgan and Kyakhta are able to kidnap Barris.
While Barris is their captive, she heals Bulgan's mind thereby getting rid of his pain. Barris then heals Kyakhta too. They decided to help her escape to repay her for healing them.
Kyahta and Bulgan are now going to lead the Jedi to the Alwari. They arrange for transport in the trading market. They will be riding suubatars.
While crossing a river on the suubatars, Barris falls into the water with the help some creatures in the water. Anakin goes in after her, but she did not need the help. Ogomoor pressures Kandah to get the Unity to vote while the Jedi are gone.
The Jedi and their guides meet up with the Yiwa tribe. The Jedi have to perform for the Yiwa in order to gain their trust.
They perform and impress Yiwa so they get directions to the overclan Borokii's last known camp. On the way they are forced to hide from Kyren(millions of seed eating birds that eat everything in their path).
This chapter they spend their time hiding from Chawix. Chawix is sort of a flesh eating tumbleweed.
Borris has a run-in with Tooqui and band of Gwurran. Tooqui will tag along as Barris' pet.
The Jedi, guides and Tooqui meet up with Qulun traders. While thinking they are guests, they are drugged and held captive. Tooqui had slipped away just before they were drugged. The Qulun area being paid by Soergg to delay the Jedi. The Jedi communicators are destroyed.
Tooqui initiates a stampeed of Lorqual creatures into the Qulun encampment. During the fray, Tooqui frees the Jedi. They then escape via their suubatars.
Anakin is on guard duty in the middle of the night. He goes to investigate a noise and is attacked by a pair of Shanh. Luminara saves his life by killing both Shanh when Anakin was about to be ripped apart..
They finally find the Borokii camp. It is real nice place. The Jedi have to perform a task in order to meet with council of elders.
The task is get a white tuff of hair off a creature in the middle of a huge herd. Luminara does it, but needs to be rescued by the other three Jedi. Obi-Wan is able to convince the Borokii council to agree to peace plan with Unity of Community. The last condition for Borokii to agree to it is for the Jedi to help them "deal" with their traditional rival the Januul tribe.
Obi-Wan agrees. The Borokii think it means the Jedi will fight with them. When the two forces are face to face, the Jedi prevent either side from fighting the other. The Jedi disarm almost all of the warriors on both sides without hurting anyone. Obi-Wan forces both sides to sit down and listen. Both Januul and Borokii will agree to the peace plan. At the same time the Unity leaders agree to set a time for the vote since they have had no word from Jedi for weeks.
The Jedi make it back to town. Soergg has Ogomoor hire every thug he can to stop them. Jedi are under attack and pinned down. The Januul and Borokii warriors that have secretly been shadowing the Jedi come to the Jedi's aid. The Jedi are able to talk to Unity board shortly before the vote takes place. Soergg kills Ogomoor before he can implicate Soergg in the bad doings. The Unity board votes to stay in the Republic.
Shu Mai has to have a second member of their conspirency killed because a faction of the group wants to initate the plan now instead of waiting longer now that Ansion didn't go as planned. We learn that Count Dooko is the one pulling Shu Mai's strings.
Make it back. Get attacked. Januul and Borokii save them. Unity votes to stay. Count Booku is behind it all.
