Jacen contacts Liea through the Force to let her know he is alive and on his way back. Han, Liea, and Imperial Commander Dorja(she mans a gun turret) fight off a Vong hyperspace trap with the help of Jagged Fel who's mission is to clear the doval basin mines from the hyperspace lines.
Those four chat for a while about the Falcon. Jaggel Fel states his opinion on if the Empire should take on the Vong now. Liea's mission is to talk to Empire about giving assistance to New Republic.
Luke Skywalker meets with Senator Fyor Rodan, who is on the short list for new Chief of State. Fyor does not like the Jedi and makes it clear he has no plans to work with them if elected. Luke determines he must help Cal Omas win the election.
Jaina leads a New Republic force against the Vong at Obroa-Skai. They crush the Vong, but Supreme Overlord Shimrra was not there as intelligence had indictated. They used a Jedi-meld and the normal proven techniques to win the battle.
Tenel Ka was the leader of a Hapes force that came in at the end of the battle to give the final blow. During debriefing they learn that it was a supreme commander's ship that was destroyed. A good victory, but not the one they were looking for.
Jacen and Vergere are still on their way back to New Republic territory in a Vong ship. We learn more of Vergere's background. Vergere made decision on Zonama Sok fifty years ago.
Vergere choose to leave behind lightsaber and everything else to go with Vong to delay their attack and learn why they did not exist in the force.
Jacen tells Vergere what happened to the Old Republic.
Luke comes up with the idea of a Jedi Council with six non-Jedi members. This is to help build trust on both sides and prevent one sided from being shut out.
Shimraa has a power meeting with the heads of all the casts. Hears all of their reports. Shimraa has a shaper killed because of all the itching on Yazzah'tar. The itching is caused by some biotoxin that the worldbrain is making.
Luke and Mara reunite with Jacen and Vergere. Vergere is taken prisoner to be debriefed.
Liea and Han meet with Grand Admiral Pellaeon. They Empire will not be helping right now but they do make an information exchange. Liea gives him Vong secrets in exchange for deep core hyperspace routes.
Jaina returns to the Railroost and learns Jacen is alive. The heritic shaper Nen Yim has found an antidote for the itching. She is also working on a way to stop Yammosk jamming. Nom Anor is alive still... and up to something.
Luke meets with Vergere for the first time. It is slow going for him getting information from her.
Luke meets with Vergere a second time. Luke, Mara, and Jacen meet with Ackbar and Winter. Ackbar has a plan to beat the Vong.
Lando has developed mouse droids with YVH brains. They can be used to sniff out Vong spies.
Jaina leds the Twin Suns squadron against a small Vong force.
Mara prevents an assination by following two Vong operatives that the mouse droids found. Cal Omas is elected as the Chief of State. Cal Omas officially creates the Jedi Council.
Lando and Talon Karde blackmailed some of the voters into voting for Cal Omas. Lando and Talon taped their dealings with Senators. They were offering refugee supplies to the Senators for free. The blackmail is that the Senator's sold the stuff on the black market instead of giving it the people.
Luke and Cal are setting up the Government and the Jedi Council.
Jacan and Jaina see each other for the first time. Jacen hangs out with Danni, she is jobless right now. Since figuring out jamming the Yammosk, the military took over the project.
Ackbar presents his plan to destroy the Vong to the military leaders.
The Jedi Council will be called the "High Council" because not all members are Jedi. They hold their first meeting... Non-Jedi members are: Wookiee Senator Triebakk, Intelligence Director Dif Scaur, Gotal Senator Ta'laam Ranth, Minister of State Releqy A'Kla, Supreme Commander Sien Sovv, and Chief of State Cal Omas. The Jedi members are: Kyp Durron, Coran Horn, Cilghal, Kenth Hammer, Saba Sebatyne, Chev Jedi Knight Tresina Lobi and Luke Skywalker.
Jacen, Jaina, Lobacca, Tenel Ka, Zekk, Tahiri and 3 others finally become Jedi Knights. Luke doesn't want a big show but Cal gets him to have a ceremony. Calls Jaina the "Sword of the Jedi."
Jacen and Jaina talk at the party after they are knighted. Most of the Jedi are going to go join the fleet. Vergere and Jacen also talk. Vergere probably knows what Dif Scaure is up to based on things she hears from Jacen that Danni told him.
The Jedi force meld wins the battle at Duro. Luke learns of Dif Scaur's bio-weopon called Alpha Red. It will kill everthing Vong and it will be read in 3 months. Luke and the council vote against it but Cal Omas overrides them and authorizes it to continue.
Vergere breaks the Alpha-Red project. Chief of State Cal Omas and the others don't trust Luke anymore... think he told Vergere but he didn't. Jacen is now hiding Vergere.
After seeding the three different Vong spies with enough information, Nom Anor takes the bait for Ackbar's trap. They will use the Deep Core route information to create a deadend trap at Ebaq 9.
The Vong attack Ebaq 9 with five fleets. Farlander's fleet including Jaina's squardron are the first to be attacked. Next the fleet with Kyp and Jacen arrive including the Railroost. Next in system is the smuggler's fleet commanded by Han Solo including the Errent Venture. Finally the fleet with Luke arrives. The New Republic forces more or less win. Tsavong Lah realizes it is a trap but goes after Jaina who has landed on Ebaq 9. Lah tells the rest of his vong forces to retreat to fight another day. The New Republic has laid mines in the only Vong escape route... almost all of the retreating Vong forces are destroyed by the mines.
Jacen goes down to Ebaq 9 to help Jaina. Lah has 10,000 troops including voxyn tracking Jaina and now Jacen. Jacen does okay but gets trapped. Vergere drives a stolen A-wing through the base which kills her and causes all of the air to be lost. This kills all of the Vong troops except for Tsavong Lah. Lah attacks Jaina after everyone things all of the Vong are dead. Lowbacca is injured by Lah. Jaina is able to kill Lah. Tessar was also there helping.
The New Republic lost some people, but it was a complete victory. No Jedi were lost.
