Nightwing was one of the top stayers of his era.  

He was most comfortable in the 10-16 furlong range.  In fact, our trainers said his best distance was 16 furlongs.  His preferred style featured a slow break from the gate.  He would usually trail the field until the last furlong or so, then use his good acceleration to pour it on at the end.  Nightwing thrilled many race fans with his last second heroics.

He was solid on all surfaces.  He preferred dirt and turf as long as it was hard.  He also was good in mud.  He was average on both soft dirt and soft turf.

Nightwing was very tough.  He was never injured in his career and was only sore once, in his final race.  He also was very quick to recover after racing.  He raced every 14 days like clockwork as a 3YO and compiled 46 career races in three seasons.

Nightwing was a bit inconsistent at times, which lead to 13 second place finishes, many of them caused by his tendency to cruise at the finish after he got the lead.

Overall, he will be remembered as a very tough competitor who was generally feared by his peers.
