Spring Prairie Lutheran Church

At more than 160 years old, Spring Prairie Lutheran Church is the second oldest Lutheran congregation in south central Wisconsin.  The Spring Prairie congregation was founded on March 28, 1847 beneath a large oak tree when a Norwegian pastor carved a cross in the tree's bark saying, "We must have the sign of the cross, for we are to celebrate Holy Communion here today."

The Spring Prairie congregation continues to worship with the same love of Christ as their forefathers.  Spring Prairie offers many services to its members and the community including:
  • Weekly Sunday worship at 10:00 a.m. (9:00 a.m. during the summer)
  • Sunday School time for children during weekly worship

  • Confirmation instruction for seventh and eighth graders

  • Adult Bible studies and small group ministries

  • Vacation Bible school every July

  • Luther League for teens

  • Prairie Coffeehouse

  • A great family atmosphere
