Collage can be a tricky business, in part because it's so open ended; you can use anything, and once you
start flipping through magazines it can be difficult to stop. I've found that specific restrictions can be quite helpful;
(deciding to use only one magazine for example, as in DISASSEMBLY LINE). For this piece I decided to choose just three
pages. When you have such a limited amount of source material, you're forced to deal with every square inch and the
process becomes more like 'painting' with bits of color and texture, and less like a smattering of unrelated imagery.
By cutting apart and then reassembling a page you can find all sorts of new connections
