Chris Simmons from Color Match came by

to assess the seat and headliner repairs. Chris

ordered the headliner and took some color samples from under the rear armrests bases to see if

Kenny could match the color.

The fawn gold metallic color and is

very difficult to match. Several paint stores

wouldn’t attempt to make it. So if Kenny

couldn’t do it, I would change the interior

 color to black.

Chris called and said Kenny ordered some gold dust powder for the dye and they shot some tests and it was a perfect match. I guess that’s why they call there upholstery business Color Match, not Color Close!

One of the first things I did was replace

the front springs.

The front of the car was very stiff and sitting

up about three inches (station wagon springs)

bad idea. I found a stock set at

a local auto parts store.

Next thing was to replace the AFB 4bbl

with a tri-power carburetor set up.
