Welcome to PIXILS the online art gallery

These images were created using Corel PhotoPaint, a graphics workshop similar to Adobe Photoshop. My purpose with these pieces was to explore the possibilites of form, shape, and color, since I had no formal training as an artist and drawing had always seemed somewhat beyond my reach. The computer medium seems fundamentally different to me than traditional drawing and painting. The latter methods apply subtractions to the light reaching the canvas, whereas the computer monitor generates light. Thus images are able to attain a luminescent quality that is difficult to achieve otherwise.
