| The Allstate version of this Puch 175 was identical except that it had only a single carburetor. The Puch has a matching Bing carb on the other side. The 175 had a 4-speed gearbox and an enclosed chain. The monocoque frame was quite rigid an the bike handled pretty well. Top speed for the Allstate version was about 70mph but like the Volkswagen Beetle, it could be run continously at full throttle without harm. Sears sold the Allstate 175 in 1961 for about $400. |
