Warning Description: Wind Advisory

Warning Date: 3:16 PM EST on January 7, 2009

WarningSum:...Wind Advisory Remains In Effect Until Midnight Est Tonight...

Warning Message:A Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight EST tonight for
most of the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia.
Sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph...with gusts up to 45 mph...will
continue across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia into
this evening. Wet top soil...combined with the gusty winds will
continue to uproot trees across the area. The majority of the
trees and power lines will fall over northeast Georgia... upstate
South Carolina...and the southern Piedmont of North Carolina.
While the advisory is in effect through midnight...wind gusts
strong enough to blow over trees should cease between 6 and 7 PM.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
