My name real name is Evan Samaritano and I am a middle-aged, middle-class computer tech living in eastern Washington State.

I am a U.S. Navy vet (former enlisted Intelligence Specialist) who served during the Gulf War.

I am a life-long “Scoop Jackson” Democrat. For those of you who have forgotten this great American already, that means I am a Guns and Butter liberal. Think Woodrow Wilson, FDR, Harry Truman or JFK. Specifically, I have never voted for a Republican in my life, although on a few occasions I have refrained from voting for a particular Democratic candidate.

I used to send a weekly email to my friends and family covering all the cool and semi-cool things I found on the Web that week. Eventually these email missives became too big and I decided it would be easier for everyone involved if I put it all on a blog that they could visit (or not) as convenient.
