Gory Personal Details

I'm 30 years old and single. My passion is amateur astronomy. I live in West Bend, WI, which is a very nice balance between being close to Milwaukee and being close to relatively dark skies. Did I mention I'm an amateur astronomer? That should not really be a surprise, given the name of this web site! Other interests include computers, firearms, strategy games, golf, and following major Wisconsin sports teams (Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers).

Education

I went to Port Washington High School in Port Washington, WI. Go Pirates! My college years were spent at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, where I studied cognitive science. But my real education came from hacking on the computers at CLARC, Taylor Hall and CIF.

Professional Information

I work at Graphics Systems Corporation, a company that sells and services computer-aided design system for mechanical engineers. My title is Technical Services Manager, and my group is responsible for pre-sales and post-sales technical support, training, and implementation of all software and hardware for our customers. We also support our internal infrastructure, which is getting more and more interesting these days since we now have 3 satellite offices.
