Wisconsin's Largest Lakes
I have seen Lake Koshkonong ranked anywhere between second and seventh as far as how big it is compared to other inland lakes in Wisconsin. I did some digging on the Wisconsin DNR Lake Maps Directory and found out is is actually the eighth largest lake in Wisconsin. However, calling it the seventh largest inland lake may still be accurate as Lake Pepin is on the Mississippi River, and technically not "inland." I may be wrong, but my guess is that it was the second largest at the time the dam was built and the lake was created. It has since fallen in the rankings as more dams were built across Wisconsin rivers.
