News for the week of August 25 - 29

We will continue with our Welcome to School Theme.

A few of the books that we will study are:
Animals in the Park (an abc book) & Hands Can (a non fiction book).
We will explore letters found in our name, sounds of letters, Capital and lower case letters, etc.
We will learn to use manipulatives such as counting bears, pattern blocks, & shape sorting.
We will create our class rules derived from our Hopes and Dreams for Kindergarten.
*According to Harry Wong author of The First Days of School, it will take your child at least 6 weeks to truly become established in the classroom.

Our open house will be September 10th .
Please try your best to attend this night for adults.

Homework:
-practice writing first name with capital of first letter only.
-Family Circle Map. Try to include some photos if possible.
