IT HAD TO BE YOU

4 Angels!

"IT HAD TO BE YOU by Julie Skerven is one book that is sweet, yet is enjoyable for any reader who likes romance and two people who are destined for one another. I loved that Candy, even though she has grown up to be an independent woman, still has the courage to go back to a high school reunion, even though she vowed never to go back to her home town. I mean, come on, going back to your reunion is one thing you don't want to experience, and for Candy there are a lot of embarrassing moments that happened in high school. However, Greg Morris is one person who makes her change her mind about life in a small town, making her wish for the what-ifs. The chemistry and attraction these two had made me grab a fan, for there is definitely romance between these two. I say, Awesome job! to Julie Skerven."

"Loved this story, heavens, am I predictable, but I truly did. I enjoyed so much the fact that Greg always wanted Candy and, getting a new chance, goes all out in the attempt making everything just right to entice her. What girl doesn't want a man to surround her, in every way (pun intended), and make her feel cherished and loved? Candy falling for her suitor, yet having no real feel for his true identity was so sweet, but not sickly sweet in the slightest, and I was glad to see that she easily admitted to herself that he was someone special, even with their past. Wonderful was the fact that all the characters are strong personalities. It was truly heart warming to see his family all come together in accepting Candy, after the initial misunderstanding, and for Candy to accept them, after all she endured as a teenager."

"Julie Skerven's IT HAD TO BE YOU is a rousingly fun tale with two strong-willed, bold characters that are truly a joy to imagine. Candy has a dry humor that cracks me up and I love the way she won't back down from anyone who looks down their nose at her. Greg hasn't led a charmed life either despite the fact that his family has money and prestige. What his family really needs is something to shake them up and break them out of their stuck-up self-important lives... Candy is the perfect candidate to teach the entire family that there's more to life than their standing in the community. Ms. Skerven adds a bit of suspense that had me fascinated and glued to the pages until the very end."

"The chemistry between Candy and Greg is great, and their personal reunion even hotter. The sex is great, and I enjoy it from their first encounter as a wonderful reflection of Greg's adoration of Candy. The dialogue, as their relationship grows, is perfect. Secondary characters seem to jump around emotionally but overall support the plot well and keep the book moving quickly. What I most enjoy is how past events influences their actions today and how Candy and Greg's characters need their history to be together in the present. Candy and Greg were not frozen in time pining away for each other, but led full lives that make them more empathetic and their interactions more genuine. This is why I find IT HAD TO BE YOU a great book."

SERENA'S WEB

4 Cups!

"Ms. Skerven once again brings romance and suspense together in SERENA'S WEB. It has plenty of action, drama, and romance. The characters are written with depth and history and put in real life situations. I love how Serena held herself together with determination and her love for her son. And Mark is the alpha hero who wants love but does not believe it is for him. The sex scenes are spicy hot and very sensual. Ms. Skerven is fast becoming one of my favorite authors."

"Once I started reading SERENA'S WEB I was quickly caught in her trap. With so many twists and turns you never know who you can trust and just when you think you do, you realize how very wrong you are. If you are looking to read an exciting romantic suspense I would recommend SERENA'S WEB by Julie Skerven."

"Dislike and attraction hum between Mark and Serena in SERENA'S WEB as they find common ground and try to find Serena's dad. Julie Skerven's characters come to life as this book unfolds; Serena is a mama tigress when it comes to her son and Mark is a man fighting to remove the stain from his record and keep his distance from her. His protective instincts war against her need to be involved in rescuing her father. A fine edge of danger pervades this book, building the tension and edge-of-your-seat intrigue until something has to give. SERENA'S WEB delivers a suspenseful yet heart-warming tale of danger and love."

"Serena is fiercely protective. She is going to do anything in her power to find her father and protect her son. I enjoyed how she is not going to take any bull from Mark on what she knows are her responsibilities to her family. She is willing to make a deal with the devil to ensure their safety, even if that devil comes disguised as a FBI agent. Mark knows what his job is and is going to complete it no matter what, but things have a way of getting in the way. He is able to handle dangerous situations that are thrown at them, but a little thing like love throws him for a loop. He is not sure how to deal with his feelings, but I am sure that Serena will be able to give him a little direction. Pick up a copy of SERENA'S WEB today from Whiskey Creek Press to see how Serena is able to weave her magic around Mark."

FOOL'S GOLD

5 Stars - Highly Recommended!

"A short contemporary romance, FOOL'S GOLD is long on sizzle, laughter, and character. Mismatched hero and heroine, cowboy and city lady, is a pretty standard plot, but Ms. Skerven has taken it out of the ordinary, added some twists, a lot of tinder to fuel their mounting passions, and given the reader a great read. Super job, Ms. Skerven."

"The characterization is charming and realistic. Rafe and the ranch hands are what they are: men who work in all weather, work hard, sweat, and swear. Sarah is a woman of the 90's, but she is also aware of her responsibilities, is willing to learn, and she loves Rafe--even while she is sweltering in red long-johns."
