| When
your children get married, you look on the future with a brand-new
perspective. You begin to think about whether our policies are going to
be sustainable well into this century. This summer, Josh graduated from UC Berkeley in Astrophysics. We're proud, of course. But we're even more proud that he's volunteering weekly to tutor children in Washington, D.C., in the neighborhood where I first taught school. |

Josh,
and his wife Lucy share a passion for service, a passion Josh learned
here at Technical High School, where service to community is an
important part of what our students learn. Joshua's major
projects in Astrophysics include Astropulse,
a distributed computing project that searches for Black Holes and other
phenomenon, using the Arecibo Radio Telescope, and Stardust,
a NASA project that allows volunteers to use a "virtual microscope," to
assist in analyzing comet dust from the Stardust Spacecraft. |
