Well, we decided to go Southwest this year. Our trip took us through Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Mexico, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah (just a foot or an arm), Colorado, and Nebraska. All in all, I would say this was almost the most fun we've ever had! It's at least a tie with the 1995 trip.
Sandy stopped the car along the side of the freeway so we could get our picture with the Missouri state sign. But the driver's side was a little too close to the freeway for her to feel safe getting in over there, so she climbed in the passenger side and got stuck! I could barely stop laughing long enough to take this picture.

We discovered that Jesse James was born and lived in Kearny, MO, so we stopped in to say, "hi!" But he's dead! So we said a little prayer at his grave and went on our way.

The park lady kicked us out because it was closing time, and a cute chocolate lab, Chewlydog, tried to get in my car! He was such a sweet puppy. Too bad I look horrid in that picture, or I'd include it here. Anyway, we found where Jesse James' daughter lived so we went to visit her, but nobody was home. We just walked around on our own.

That night, we camped in Kansas somewhere. Sandy had delusions and started calling for Auntie Em, but I managed to calm her down and convinced her that Toto was safe at home. We found Chewly 4 and Chewly 5, though! It's just cool that every year, we manage to find a Chewly at one campsite, and this year, we found two. I'm holding Chewly 4, and Sandy's got Chewly 5: Urban Kitty!
