Boy, are you guys ever dull..

It was another one horse race as Bill Ludenia won the tournament by damn near two and a half pounds over the Steinbauers and the rest of us by catching  a bag weighing 18-10.   Most of Bill’s fish came from the reeds and slop in the NW part of the lake (Little Boy) near the church camp.  Most fish came (get your mind out of the gutter) on jig/pig, Kermit, and some plastic thing.  We’re all familiar with the “walking the dog” technique with stick-baits, Bill enticed his lunker with the soon to be famous “skimming the Scummie” technique.  Apparently you cast the faux frog out, start ripping it back, wait for a bulge to appear nearby and stop.  Bulge inhales said frog and Checkbook nets it for you.  Works every time.  At least once, anyway.  Bill will putting together a study on the technique and should be published soon.  Second place , and lunker tie, went to Nate Steinbauer who kicked his old man’s ass with a bag of 16-7.  Nate said he caught fish nearly everywhere he went.  Lunker and several other fish were caught on a purple jib with a june-bug Powerbait neon craw.  Other fish came on reed edges with a spinnerbait and in the reeds with the increasingly popular Krueger-white tube.  Third place, and the kickee in question, went to Chuck Steinbauer who very loudly is putting together a pretty nice year.  Chuck’s bag of 15-13 were caught mostly on Texas rigged Senkos with no particular color choice.  He also caught a number of dock fish but most were culled.  The co-lunker  (4-1) winner was Miles Krueger who won enough jack to pick up a twelve pack and get pasted on the way home.  I got the story from Miles’ net man (Ghee).  The fish was caught on, you guessed it, a Krueger tube, on a breakline in Wabedo.  When asked why he liked the white tube so much Miles said he really didn’t care for it much, he was just trying to summon up the same luck his old man had.  By the way Pat and Jean, nice of you to show up for the ceremony.  Miles was crushed.

Dennis, I contacted your proctologist and we think we’ve located your head.  Making a strong entry for Dolt-of-the-Year, Dennis backed his barely off-center boat off the trailer to re-position.  Unfortunately it was attached to the winch stand sending the handle off at about Mach 3 as he backed down..  Nicely done.  Stong entry.

Run your damn aerators.  They draw about two amps.  We killed a dozen fish on Little Boy.  I was just kidding about the fish frys.

Barring any last minute entries, the big bass pot will be worth $330.  If you want to join, it will cost you $30 to pay thru Pokegama, $40 will cover the year.  Pay up cheap pricks.

Two cows, Bossie and Daisy are pulling their cuds in the field one morning.  Bossie says to Daisy, “You look shot.  Are you feeling okay?”  Daisy replies, “I’m beat.  I was artificially inseminated last night.”  Bossie says, “I find that extremely difficult to believe.”  Daisy replies, “It’s true.  No bull.”

Man walks into a bar with a chunk of asphalt under his arm and tells the barkeep, “Gimme a beer and one for the road.”

Hammer (my Bunkie on Little Boy) and I decided that we would have rather stayed home and sat in the back yard with a case of beer, watching dog turds turn white than fish Little Boy again.

See you on Pokegama.    Love, ruff.
